Well all decoys have been reparired, been through 3 boxes of clay birds, busted in the new call, now just waiting on the teal & for the Ordeal to commence. It is almost upon us!!!!!!!

Would like to say I am sad to see the waterfowl season go, but I would be lying. Not a good year. Had decent, mediocre at best, early season. Lease froze up two weeks in to season. Birds shagged ass with 4 weeks to go. Did manage one really good field hunt. I guess thats all it takes to bring me back next year!!!

One would think that hunting within 5 miles of the confluence of the Illlinois, Mississippi, & Missouri Rivers that you could kill some migratory waterfowl. No such luck! Killed 1 mallard drake. Everyone quit hunting by noon. Come on winter and bring some birds with you!

Headed to Calhoun Point tomorrow to hunt the river. Hope we can draw out something decent. Gotta to be better than we\'ve had.

Planted japanese millet at our lease, bought permit for permanent blind on city lake, rigged most of our new dekes, put new water pump in boat motor. Starting to do all kinds of \"ducky\" things. The \"ordeal\" is quickly approaching, oh you poor poor ducks!1

Nice to be back on the water!! Got to scratch my duck hunting itch for a couple days. Had a decent day opening day on teal, not so much the 2nd day! I always seem to forget how amazing it is to call at a bird & see their wings lock up, it never gets old!

Illinois has proposed its dates for its seasons. Looks like they are golng to move the Southern Zone start date back to Thanksgiving. Good news for me, 2 more weeks of hunting!!!
