I bought a 16ft flatbottom xtra wide xtra deep over the summer. I want to build a layout blind on it and i was thinkin about buyin one but thats pretty pricey. Im thinkin maybe just layin down in the boat and doin somthin that way. I was thinkin kind of like this. http://www.gatortraxboats.com/Gator%20Hide.htm Any ideas? thanks guys

If you can there are alot of guys on here that have boat blinds in the photos section. I like the low profile but I think it would be hard to haul decoys and I like to be able to get out of the weather if need be. I think you can build one prettty easy an use avery power hunters so the fold up very compact. |

I think i would put a couple 2x4s across and then just have burlap that would roll up and be taught and then put cover on top of that and have cutouts we could bust through real easy. That way we wouldnt have to worry about usin it for fishing or hauling decoys or anything. Same concept as a toneau cover on a truck bed. Ya know what i mean? Flocked Wear Field Staff |

made my boat like a gator trax last year wasn't bad. But like was posted above it's a pain to haul things you need in it. Went back to my old design. |

I built my blind like the Avery blind, and I am very happy with the way it works. It was very simple to build, i used 1/2" conduit, but my boat is a 11' 6" skiff. |

bedb, that blind rolls up and drops down like an Avery. i have about $300 in it, that includes the flip tops, you can do it about $75 cheaper without the fliptops, you can make your own, send me a pm with your number if you want to talk. here are the plans i made for another guy, you can also see video of a blind i made for a friend on my facebook page James Daggett have my black lab as my profile pic. hope this helps. |
