I was just wondering what other types of calls you guys carry into the hunt with you? I've been thinking of getting a pintail whistle but don't know how much I will use it. Anyone have a favorite brand or certain style they like?

I have a Primos whistle. It's the one that comes with their beginner pack with a mallard hen call and a little instructional dvd. I honestly can't make much of a mallard drake grunt. I think I just can't get my voice low enough, but it sure works for peeping teal in. :) We often throw a couple pintail dekes out in the spread too. And I'll throw in a sprig drake whistle once in a while to back up Joe's calling, for a little more realism. |

I've got the HS 6-in-1 whistle. Works good for teal and drake mallard calls. Haven't gotten into any pintails or wigeons to try it out on them yet. I want to get the Duck Commander drake gadwall and drake mallard specialty calls as well. "Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own car |

I've got the 6 in 1 that I will use when the wigeon are around and for teal peeps. I don't use it much for the drake mallard anymore because dad's got a Duck Commander drake mallard call but prior to him purchasing that, the 6 in 1 worked well for it.
OutdoorGal - you probably hit the nail on the head with saying your problem is not being able to get your voice low enough...I've gotta make a pretty deep grunt to make the 6 in 1 sound right. FowlNation - Become part of the nation and help it grow |

I carry a 6 in 1 all the time, but my blind bag always has a gadwall call in it. Also, if I'm going to the river or larger lakes, I'll also throw a diver call in the bag as well for scaup, buffleheads, etc. Of course, I'm planning to take decoys for divers as well. |

Down here in the Sportsman's Paradise, I have a DC 6 in 1 whistle, a DC Woodie, and I use a Haydel Cajun Squeal. The Greenhead grunt is like a vuuuuuutttttt in the whistle. Lance Lincecum FowlNation Pro Staff Call me AT&T, Cuz I'll reach out and touch 'em. |

Where did you get the diver call at? One of our honeyholes attracts alot of divers and although they will work to a regular hen mallard call, it would be nice to have a diver call to try out and see if they respond better.
