I suppose I could try to wrangle up some swag to give out.

We have a sweet looking duck call from Waterfowl Reaper that I'm trying to figure out how to give out to a lucky member.

Well it's about time another one of these comes along!

you ought to make it so you have to have so much activity to qualify for it.  these members that sit back and don't post or upload photos are not really contributing to the site (which is there choice)

How about a video upload contest? I want to see short clips of members saying their name and "I am FowlNation" with something clever or funny added. Members can upload the video to FowlNation.com, Facebook, Youtube, Vimeo etc, I will start a new thread and all they have to do is post a link to the video or embed it if they know how.

At the end of the contest, we'll draw using everyone that posted a video.

I think it would be neat to see some of the personalities behind the profiles. Talked to js20bore on the phone last week while he was on Drummond Island (not far from me) and he seems like a real nice fella. I'm in favor.

when is the deadline to have entries in?

Going to let this one run a little longer - December 15th will be the final date for submissions.

Criteria:

• Video must be a minimum of 10 seconds long
• Person posting the video must own said video
• FowlNation needs to be mentioned in the video, in some shape or form
• Bonus points for offering a hunting tip or making me laugh
• No nudity, racism, political reference or mention of Jeff Foiles. PG-13 is a good guideline

I'll have a more official announcement posted up on the main page, as soon as I can line up some prizes.

when should we turn in our entries?  I am hiding mine so nobody can copy it.

going to try and get my video together tomorrow, my buddies have been unable to hunt with me so I have been going by myself, and it is a little hard to video yourself with out a tripod haha.  Hope I can get something in the works.

Sorry guys I didn't get around to obtaining prizes for this one, or promote it for that matter. Good to know we would have had two entries though lol.

Keep your video submissions ready to go, we'll still run this contest just not with a Dec 15th deadline. I am transitioning between jobs right now, once I get that mess sorted out I should be able to get the contest up and running with a hard set date.

Sorry it is taking so long to get this one started up. When it eventually gets kicked off, the criteria will be the same... so save your video. I'll try to make it worth it, but no promises here either. The site barely brings in enough ad revenue to cover hosting costs - and man it sure is tough buying a box of decoys out of my own pocket that I don't even get to hunt over!

Maybe I should keep my mouth shut but sometimes I can't. I have donated 1 call to the site for giveaway for the upcoming contest and I am planning on donating another in the near future. I know there are other call makers and vendors on this site... maybe they would be willing to donate a call or something else for the contest. Everyone is willing to sign up to win a prize in the contest... so I guess I am calling on any call makers or vendors on the site to step up if you can. If i offend anyone with this... sorry but this is how I feel. And I'm not saying you should feel guilty for signing up to win a prize on the site, we all enjoy winning something... I'm just saying if you can throw something back, now would be a good time.

Reaper I have an additional giveaway planned for your call, something like that deserves to be recognized in itself as it is a beautiful piece of wood. Going to take a little more effort than just signing up to win that type of swag, might even require a short essay & gear it towards youth involvement :).
