photo must be in a website like 'photobucket'

photobucket is free and easy to use

after photo is in photobucket copy 'direct link'  (photobucket gives you this option when you click on the picture)

after this is done open up a new thread or click reply on a thread on fowlnation

next, click on the little green tree next to the boat anchor and the broom icon.  click tree icon and paste into 'image url'

click insert

click submit

Good post Clyde, gave you some points.

We're working on re-implementing the ability to upload and place images inline with posts, but I've had too many vacation days to get to it yet :)

You can also post pictures that you’ve uploaded to your “My Photos” area of your Fowlnation profile in a similar fashion to what clyde explained when using photobucket. If you do this there’s no need to create another account on another website with another username and password to try and remember. In a nutshell, you just need to copy and paste the image location/address (make sure what you copy and paste ends with an image file extension such as “.jpg”) into the “Image URL” field of the “Insert/edit image” window.

In my experience, there are different ways to do this depending on if you are using Firefox or Internet Explorer (my preference is Firefox). Each section below starts after you’ve uploaded pictures to you’re My Photos area of your Fowlnation profile. Here it goes..

Internet Explorer

1. Navigate to the photo in you’re profile you’d like to insert into the forum thread

2. Right mouse click anywhere on the image

3. Select Properties. This should open a new Properties window

4. Select and Copy the Address then close the Properties window

5. [Skip ahead to step 1 of IE & Firefox]

Firefox (option 1)

1. Navigate to the photo in you’re profile you’d like to insert into the forum thread

2. Right mouse click anywhere on the image

3. Select Copy Image Location

4. [Skip ahead to step 1 of IE & Firefox]

Firefox (option 2)

1. Navigate to the photo in you’re profile you’d like to insert into the forum thread

2. Right mouse click anywhere on the image

3. Select View Image Info. This should open a new Page Info window

4. Select and Copy the Location then close the Page Info window

5. [Skip ahead to step 1 of IE & Firefox]

IE & Firefox

1. Open a new thread or reply to an existing thread

2. Select the Insert/edit image icon (the little green tree) in between the anchor icon and broom icon

3. Paste into the “Image URL” field

4. Select in one of the empty fields (Image description or Title) and a preview of your image should appear.

NOTE: The next three steps will ensure that your image isn’t too wide for the forum (we are still working on getting this setup so it will automatically resize the image if it’s too wide but it’s been a really big task. You can skip these three steps if you’d like and skip ahead to step 8 and the Fowlnation crew will try to keep up with manually editing them to fit properly)

5. Select the Appearance tab.

6. Make sure there is a check mark in the Constrain proportions box

7. If it is larger than 900, change the first field of the Dimensions to 900 or less.

8. Select Insert and your image will be placed in the thread

I know this seems like a long process but really it’s pretty simple and not any more difficult than posting the photos to photobucket and then copying and pasting that image address. If you have any questions please let one of the Fowlnation crew know and we’ll answer you as soon as possible. Thanks!

to get their ad to stop, click on it then just close the window it opened.   I do this because I often listen to music while uploading to photobucket.  I have a friend who uses imageshack.  I'm not sure how many ads are on it.
