We are having the craziest weather I have ever seen. Most of the lakes here in South Dakota have opened back up and most have very little ice left. Yesterday...on January 5th...it was 62 degrees out. That aint right!! We have flocks of thousands of mallards that are still around the area. I went out to the river hunting this week and saw a guy disking a bean stubble field. I really dont know what to think.Undecided

the high today in west MI 46 deg. and sunny, we should be ice fishing by now.  My boys have a new sled for Christmas that they can't

use.  Late season geese (heard through the grapevine) aren't patterning that well yet.

Here too, in the daytime high records are being set all over the place, usually we have in 3ft of snow and an average of -20 by now, Maple Creek got up to 16c this weekend!  Suppose to be 11 in my area Monday!

Same here in MN. The forecasted high for the Twin Cities today is 52F (which would be a record high). The average for this time of year is just over 20F. If we don't get some snow soon...I'm wondering how good the spring snow goose hunting will be? No/little snow means very little sheet water and they love that sheet water...

In Missouri it's supposed to snow tonight after weeks of warm short sleeve weather. I hope it pushes some migrating geese in instead of pushing the few we have out of the state.

For Wednesday and today (Thursday) Our temps dropped back down for a bit, wed it got down to a low of -28c and today it was a low of -17c in the morning.  But just as ya know it tommorow it suppose to get up to -2, and the weekend is above 0 again!. What makes me nervous is the shanty town on one of my lakes, there is about 15 shacks 40 yards away from an open river mouth, so some might be fallin threw.

To all my fellow southern waterfowl hunters the snow has hit the northern states and at 7:45 am this morning in Wisconsin i seen big groups of birds heading south as far as the eye could see, it is the biggest push i have seen in a long time. i know some of you are at the end of your season but keep your heads up to the Sky because here they come!! GOOD LUCK and Hunt Safe.

We haven't seen any sub zero temps yet, when typically we'd have several days below zero half way into december.

Snow fall/precipitation has been minimal too, light dusting today but not enough to keep our "sled necks" happy!

I am starting to get the itch for going to the mountains. Did a lot of stuff to the sled over the last couple years and havent had the chance to use it enough.

got one more weekend in the Illinois season, been hitting up the flooded timber in the south zone, and been managing a few ducks every day we have hunted.  Got a new layout blind for x-mas, and some goose shells that I have a feeling will stay in the decoy room in the basement till next year.  WE NEED SOME BIG GEESE!  Still warm around here as well, high in the 50s tomorrow.  O well, only had to bust ice 2 times this year.

-2c Sunday.  -28c Monday...HA I love Saskatchewan.  Suppose to get -32c by Thursday and up to +1c this Sunday.

Also we only have a light dusting of snow, probably an inch.  The lakes are pretty much pure ice, pretty neat.  But if you go north 150 miles there is a few feet of snow haha.
