I've been running with a handheld rechargeable spotlight, but the battery drains whenever it isn't being charged so I'm in the market for a new light.

I'm also in the process of finishing the blind on my boat, so I was thinking about mounting a light or two while I'm at it. Anyone have lights mounted to the front of your boat & how do you like them?

I've been reading that a fixed position light can be bad as your weight distribution changes in the boat, making it tough to light up what you actually want to see at times. This is the main reason I've went with a handheld - just point and blast :). Might just stick with a handheld, but get a 12v corded version this time around.

I have two head light (kc daylighters) and 4 flood lights.   point them all in different directions so there is always one where you are looking.  I love them and laugh at guys holding a spot light.

join, or DIE.

Two baja head lights from walmart less than $20 and can be painted camo, rough up with sand paper first. Point one straight and other slightly upward to compensate weight  for weight distribution. alot of people mount on corners "Dont Do That" If you hunt like me the first tree/obstruction will mess them up. I mounted mine inches of bow light"red/green one"on each side. They come with 50 watt but auto zone has 1oowatts for $5 you need the 100watt 50 is not enough. when your watts increase so does your amps I used #10 wire. I used 1/2 inch gray flexible conduit"sealtight"ran through the lateral rib and support braces to a water tight box drilled hole in cover and mounted a 2 toggle switches 50 amps each.

sounds complicated but every thing is less than $50
